This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Assist in enhancing formulary access, ensuring protocol and order set preparedness, supporting discharge pathways, and generating demand across targeted hospital accounts.
• Collaborate with Infectious Disease physicians, hospitalists, pharmacists, case management teams, discharge planners, and IDN decision-makers to promote sales initiatives.
• Create, implement, and execute comprehensive business plans for the territory.
• Cultivate relationships with hospitals while understanding customer needs and priorities.
• Provide scientific and clinical insights regarding the disease state and approved products.
• Present approved product sales information utilizing the customer engagement selling model.
• Optimize customer engagement by effectively managing resources.
• Work alongside Organized Provider Account Directors, Reimbursement Managers, and various cross-functional stakeholders.
• Meet and surpass territory sales goals while focusing on high-value customers and growth opportunities.
• Convert formulary successes and market access achievements into increased prescribing and utilization.
• Involve stakeholders in discussions regarding patient identification, treatment selection, IV-to-oral transitions, discharge readiness, and readmission prevention.
• Promote collaboration with nurse navigators, discharge planners, case managers, and specialty pharmacy partners.
• Identify and resolve obstacles to product adoption.
• Strategize activities to meet call metrics and enhance customer coverage and frequency.
• Organize educational programs, in-services, speaker engagements, and compliant scientific discussions.
• Evaluate utilization trends, customer insights, market dynamics, sales activities, and overall territory performance.
• Develop territory strategies in conjunction with the Regional Sales Director, brand team, and support partners.
• Oversee the territory budget and complete necessary administrative tasks.
• Engage in training and development initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with corporate and industry standards and procedures.
• BA/BS degree from an accredited institution.
• Valid driver's license.
• Over 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical, medical, or biotech industry.
• At least 3 years of experience working with hospitals and health systems.
• Familiarity with hospital decision-making processes, clinical pathways, formulary management, and antimicrobial stewardship programs.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% within the assigned territory, including overnight stays.
• Capability to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
• Preferred: a consistent record of top-tier sales achievements and proven success in product launches.
• Preferred: demonstrated experience in driving demand generation within hospital settings.
• Preferred: background in anti-infective products.
• Proficiency in account selling and managing complex sales processes.
• Extensive knowledge of the Health Systems business model, organizational structure, key stakeholder roles, and decision-making processes.
• Experience engaging with specialist physicians, hospitalists, pharmacists, and pharmacy leadership.
• Proven experience collaborating across hospital and community care environments.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Skill in analyzing data and trends to formulate actionable business strategies.
• Flexibility and adaptability to evolving market conditions.
• Proven ability to adhere to regulatory, legal, and compliance standards.
• Exceptional presentation and sales skills, paired with strong business acumen.
