This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.
• Assist in enhancing formulary access, ensuring readiness of protocols and order sets, supporting discharge pathways, and driving demand across selected hospital accounts.
• Collaborate with Infectious Disease physicians, hospitalists, pharmacists, case management teams, discharge planners, and IDN decision-makers to boost sales.
• Create, implement, and execute a comprehensive business plan for the territory.
• Cultivate hospital relationships while understanding the needs and priorities of customers.
• Offer scientific and clinical insights on disease states and approved products.
• Present sales and detailed clinical brand presentations to healthcare professionals.
• Optimize customer engagement by managing resources effectively.
• Work together with Organized Provider Account Directors, Reimbursement Managers, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Meet and surpass sales objectives within the designated territory.
• Achieve formulary victories and convert market access successes into prescribing and usage.
• Involve stakeholders in conversations that support patient identification, treatment selection, IV-to-oral transition, discharge readiness, and reduction of readmissions.
• Coordinate efforts with nurse navigators, discharge planners, case managers, and specialty pharmacy partners to ensure access and continuity of therapy.
• Identify and resolve barriers to product adoption.
• Strategically plan activities to maximize customer coverage and calling frequency.
• Gain an understanding of healthcare delivery systems, physician hierarchies, pharmacy staff, and clinical nursing personnel.
• Maintain knowledge of products and accounts while monitoring market trends.
• Analyze utilization patterns, customer insights, and local market conditions.
• Conduct educational programs, in-services, speaker programs, and compliant scientific discussions.
• Share best practices with fellow sales professionals.
• Provide marketing insights and evaluate sales activity and territory performance.
• Collaborate with the Regional Sales Director, brand team, and support partners to develop territory plans.
• Oversee the territory budget and complete necessary administrative tasks.
• Implement brand strategies and tactics within the assigned area.
• Take part in training and development initiatives while ensuring adherence to policies.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Valid driver's license.
• Over 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical, medical, or biotech industries.
• At least 3 years of experience engaging with hospitals and health systems.
• Familiarity with hospital decision-making processes, clinical pathways, formulary management, and antimicrobial stewardship programs.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% within the assigned area, including overnight stays.
• Capability to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
• Consistent history of top-tier sales achievements and successful product launches.
• Proven success in generating demand within hospital settings.
• Preference for candidates with anti-infective experience.
• Proficiency in account selling and managing intricate sales processes.
• In-depth understanding of the Health Systems business model, organizational structures, stakeholder roles, and decision-making processes.
• Experience engaging specialist physicians, hospitalists, pharmacists, and pharmacy leadership.
• Background in collaborating across both hospital and community care environments.
• Ability to analyze data and trends to develop actionable business strategies.
• Capability to adhere to regulatory, legal, and compliance requirements.
