This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +1 more state.
• Assist in enhancing formulary access, readiness of protocols and order sets, support for discharge pathways, and demand generation within targeted hospital accounts.
• Interact with Infectious Disease physicians, hospitalists, pharmacists, case management teams, discharge planners, and decision-makers within Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs) to drive sales.
• Create, implement, and execute comprehensive business plans for the assigned territory.
• Cultivate hospital relationships while understanding customer needs and priorities.
• Offer scientific and clinical information relevant to the disease state and approved products.
• Present sales pitches to physicians, Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), medical staff, and other clinic personnel.
• Leverage and manage resources to enhance customer engagement.
• Collaborate with Organized Provider Account Directors, Reimbursement Managers, and various stakeholders across functions.
• Meet and surpass sales objectives within the designated territory.
• Achieve formulary wins at hospitals and convert market access successes into prescribing and utilization.
• Engage stakeholders in conversations related to patient identification, treatment selection, IV-to-oral transitions, discharge readiness, and reduction of readmissions.
• Foster collaboration with nurse navigators, discharge planners, case managers, and specialty pharmacy partners.
• Identify and resolve obstacles that affect product adoption.
• Strategize activities to meet call metrics and optimize customer coverage and frequency.
• Deliver clinical brand presentations and promote appropriate product usage.
• Understand healthcare delivery systems, physician hierarchies, pharmacy staff, and clinical nursing personnel within the assigned accounts.
• Develop insights into product and account knowledge while monitoring market trends.
• Analyze utilization trends, customer insights, and local market dynamics.
• Conduct educational programs, in-services, speaker events, and compliant scientific discussions.
• Share best practices with colleagues in sales.
• Provide input on marketing strategies and assess sales activities and territory performance.
• Collaborate with the Regional Sales Director, brand team, and support partners to develop territory plans.
• Oversee the territory budget.
• Complete administrative duties and execute the company's brand strategies and tactics.
• Engage in training and development initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with corporate and industry policies and procedures.
• Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from an accredited institution.
• A valid driver's license.
• Over 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical, medical, or biotech sectors.
• At least 3 years of experience working with hospitals and health systems.
• Familiarity with hospital decision-making processes, clinical pathways, formulary management, and antimicrobial stewardship initiatives.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% within the assigned region, including overnight trips.
• Capacity to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
• Preferred experience in anti-infective products.
• Proven expertise in account selling and managing complex sales processes.
• In-depth understanding of the Health Systems business model, organizational hierarchy, key stakeholder roles, and decision-making processes.
• Experience in engaging specialist physicians, hospitalists, pharmacists, and pharmacy leadership.
• Background in collaborating across hospital and community care environments.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Skill in analyzing data and trends to develop actionable business strategies.
• Adaptability and flexibility to navigate changing market environments.
• Proven ability to comply with regulatory, legal, and compliance standards.
• Outstanding presentation and selling skills, combined with strong business acumen.
