This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Utilize hands-on expertise in the development, optimization, and troubleshooting of Atomic Layer Deposition processes.

• Analyze deposition parameters, process windows, film properties, and surface-reaction behaviors.

• Engage with thin-film processes applicable to semiconductor and advanced-packaging applications.

• Evaluate technical trade-offs related to deposition conditions, material selection, and process performance.

• Implement knowledge of precursor chemistry and surface reaction dynamics.

• Interpret materials characterization data utilizing XRD, SEM, TEM, XPS, and ellipsometry techniques.

• Assess film composition, morphology, thickness, uniformity, interfaces, and associated material properties.

• Design and resolve complex ALD and semiconductor-processing challenges.

• Review AI-generated scientific reasoning for accuracy and completeness in technical contexts.

• Identify inaccuracies in deposition physics, chemistry, process design, and materials analysis.

• Evaluate and rank model outputs based on established scientific criteria.

• Organize process parameters, deposition recipes, characterization results, and scientific knowledge into structured technical documentation.

• Create reference materials for model training and evaluation purposes.

• Translate specialized semiconductor-process knowledge into clear written explanations.

• Produce reliable results adhering to defined project timelines and quality benchmarks.


⛳️ Requirements

• Seasoned semiconductor and materials professional with practical expertise in Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD), thin-film processing, precursor chemistry, and materials characterization.

• Proven hands-on experience in developing, optimizing, or troubleshooting ALD processes.

• Extensive knowledge of thin-film deposition techniques for semiconductor or advanced-packaging applications.

• Strong comprehension of precursor chemistry and surface reaction mechanisms.

• Experience in interpreting thin-film and materials characterization outcomes.

• Familiarity with XRD, SEM, TEM, XPS, ellipsometry, or similar characterization methodologies.

• Practical understanding of semiconductor processing and materials integration.

• Exceptional scientific reasoning and problem-solving abilities.

• Proficient in clear written English, capable of articulating complex technical decisions succinctly.

• Availability for a minimum of 10 hours per week.

• Must currently reside in the United States.

• An MS or PhD in materials science, chemistry, chemical engineering, physics, or a closely related field is highly relevant; equivalent advanced hands-on professional experience may also be accepted.

• Experience in research or industry settings involving deposition processes and semiconductor materials is especially advantageous.
