Scrum Master – Project Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Establish and uphold the standard for Agile ceremonies and structures across 12 teams while directly coaching and providing performance support to 6–7 Scrum Masters.

• Ensure a uniform Agile operating model, which includes definitions of ready/done, estimation practices, cadences, and escalation pathways, across all teams.

• Address cross-team delivery obstacles and facilitate a Scrum Master community of practice.

• Serve as Scrum Master for 2 designated teams, overseeing ceremonies, maintaining backlog hygiene, and removing impediments.

• Own, implement, and enhance an Agile Development Metrics & Quality Accountability Framework that covers sprint execution, code review discipline, and defect accountability.

• Implement and sustain Jira delivery metrics such as velocity, sprint predictability, cycle time, lead time, throughput, WIP, scope creep, and carryover rate.

• Establish GitHub pull-request code review metrics and collaborate with engineering leadership on branch protection rules and definitions for senior-reviewer groups.

• Manage the Jira defect discovery-by-phase taxonomy and metrics, including detection distribution, escape rate, phase containment effectiveness, defect density, and MTTD.

• Maintain escaped-defect attribution by linking bugs to their originating stories/tasks, merged pull requests, and authors/reviewers through Jira and GitHub references.

• Own the recurring per-release and quarterly Contractor/Team Accountability Rollup reporting and analyze trends with teams and leads.

• Administer eazyBI or a similar BI tool connected to Jira and GitHub to create recurring dashboards and reports without relying on a separate data pipeline.

• Refine framework principles to ensure that metrics are actionable, balanced, system-oriented, trend-driven, diagnostic, and passively instrumented.

• Act as the primary Agile liaison between Product Managers, Product Owners, and engineering across 12 teams.

• Utilize scaled Agile methodologies to coordinate dependencies, program increment/release planning, and backlog alignment.

• Facilitate PI planning, scrum-of-scrums, and cross-team dependency assessments.

• Provide Product Management and Product Ownership with insights into delivery health and quality to assist in prioritization and roadmap trade-offs.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience.

• Over 5 years of experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Project Manager in a professional software development setting, including experience mentoring or leading other Scrum Masters.

• Proven experience conducting Agile ceremonies and delivery practices across multiple concurrent teams.

• Proficient understanding of scaled Agile methodologies (e.g., SAFe, Scrum@Scale, LeSS) and experience acting as a liaison between Product Management/Product Ownership and engineering teams.

• Practical experience managing Jira for Agile delivery, including custom fields, workflows, and sprint/board configuration.

• Familiarity with GitHub pull request workflows, branch protection, and Jira–GitHub integration (smart commits) sufficient to manage a metrics framework based on that data.

• Demonstrated capability to design, implement, and evolve delivery and quality metrics programs, and to communicate them in a way that non-technical stakeholders can act upon.

• Knowledge of AI-assisted engineering tools and workflows.
