Scrum Master

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Lead cross-functional teams across multiple simultaneous digital modernization projects.

• Organize, facilitate, and enhance Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Reviews/Demos, and Retrospectives.

• Recognize and resolve impediments, dependencies, and external challenges.

• Mentor Government of Alberta Product Owners on maintaining roadmaps, elaborating user stories, planning releases, prioritizing backlogs based on value, and conducting relative estimations.

• Utilize generative AI and agentic tools to draft requirements, synthesize research and retrospective notes, structure sprint metrics, and automate status updates.

• Implement prompt design and assess AI outputs for privacy, security, and hallucination concerns.

• Create and deploy team intake forms, automated status dashboards, CI/CD integration checkpoints, and workflow automations.

• Track sprint burndown, velocity trends, cumulative flow diagrams, and capacity models using Azure DevOps/Jira.

• Collaborate with UX/UI designers, user researchers, and service design teams during discovery sprints, usability tests, and field research sessions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Current Certified Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM I/II, or an equivalent globally recognized credential).

• At least 3 years of experience leading and facilitating full-cycle Scrum events.

• A minimum of 3 years embedded directly in agile software development settings.

• At least 2 years of experience coaching teams, Product Owners, and stakeholders in agile methodologies, estimation, and self-organization.

• Capable of passing a Government of Alberta Enhanced Background Check, including a fingerprint criminal record check and credit check.

• Must reside and work within Canada.

• A modern Windows (preferred) or macOS machine that is fully compatible with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD).
