Scrum Master

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +6 more states.

📋 Description

• Act as a servant leader and agile coach for one or more delivery teams.

• Take ownership of and facilitate Scrum ceremonies, which include standups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

• Develop and refine ceremony formats based on team maturity and context.

• Ensure that ceremonies are effective, time-boxed, inclusive, and focused on outcomes.

• Drive completion of retrospective action items and track improvement over time.

• Identify, document, and manage impediments to resolution, including those that are outside the team's control.

• Escalate blockers when necessary organizational support is needed.

• Create an environment conducive to team focus and a sustainable delivery pace.

• Manage dependencies between internal teams and delivery partners.

• Provide coaching on Scrum values, principles, and practices to teams.

• Promote psychological safety, transparency, and a culture of continuous improvement.

• Assist Product Delivery Leads and Delivery Managers in implementing agile practices.

• Informally mentor Associate Scrum Masters and contribute ideas for team improvement.

• Own team-level agile health metrics such as velocity, sprint goal achievement, cycle time, and predictability.

• Maintain team boards, sprint reports, and delivery dashboards.

• Highlight delivery risks and team health concerns to leadership.

• Conduct data-informed retrospectives and strive for continual improvement sprint over sprint.

• Communicate team progress, delivery health, and impediments to Delivery Managers and stakeholders.

• Collaborate on backlog readiness, refinement quality, and sprint preparation.

• Coordinate cross-team dependencies and delivery flow in conjunction with other Scrum Masters and Delivery Managers.

• Utilize AI tools to detect delivery risks and trends, summarize insights from sprints and retrospectives, enhance reporting efficiency, and support data-informed continuous improvement with human oversight.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 2 years of experience as a Scrum Master or in agile facilitation with a delivery team.

• Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or a comparable certification.

• Proven ability to coach teams on Scrum principles and agile values.

• Experience in independently facilitating retrospectives, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and daily standups.

• Proficient in using Jira, Confluence, or similar agile tools.

• Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and communication skills.

• Ability to independently support one to two moderately complex teams through full sprint cycles.

• Capacity to influence team behavior and culture without relying on positional authority.

• CSP-SM, SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), or PSM II certification preferred.

• Experience with customer-facing SaaS or platform delivery teams is preferred.

• Familiarity with retail technology, POS systems, or loyalty platforms is preferred.

• Background in agile coaching, lean practices, or continuous delivery is preferred.

• Experience in managing cross-team dependencies and collaborating with Product Delivery Leads, Delivery Managers, and delivery partners.
