Scrum Master

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama.

📋 Description

• Oversee agile delivery from start to finish, which includes sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.

• Convert strategy, priorities, and team resources into actionable sprint and release plans.

• Ensure that daily execution remains aligned with established priorities.

• Eliminate obstacles and coordinate dependencies across teams and external parties.

• Safeguard team focus and promote consistent delivery.

• Create roadmaps, prioritization documents, trade-off analyses, delivery reports, and status overviews for leadership.

• Monitor metrics such as velocity, throughput, burn-down, cycle time, defect rate, and delivery performance.

• Identify and rectify areas of inefficiency or quality loss within the team.

• Set, document, and uphold delivery and quality standards.

• Tailor agile practices to accommodate AI-accelerated development.

• Manage the backlog collaboratively with product owners and project leads.

• Ensure that upcoming tasks are well-defined, estimated, and aligned with stakeholder expectations.

• Mentor the team, enhance agile practices, uphold commitments and standards, and cultivate a high-performing delivery atmosphere.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• Over 10 years of experience in agile delivery, Scrum Master, or agile project/program management roles.

• Valid Scrum Master certification (e.g., PSM, CSM, or SAFe Scrum Master).

• Extensive and demonstrated expertise in Scrum and other agile frameworks (Kanban, SAFe, Lean), along with servant-leadership practices.

• Proven experience in translating strategy and priorities into actionable team plans while maintaining delivery alignment.

• Background in producing delivery metrics, status reports, and documentation that aids leadership in decision-making and prioritization.

• Experience utilizing delivery data and metrics to significantly enhance team efficiency and quality.

• Skilled in establishing delivery or quality standards, holding teams accountable, and coaching for improved performance.

• Proficient with agile delivery tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.

• Background in facilitating teams that develop software, data, and applied AI/ML products.

• Experience in adapting agile processes to rapidly changing, AI-driven development environments.

• Experience in coaching or mentoring other Scrum Masters, or implementing agile practices across multiple teams.

• Familiarity with DORA metrics and developing leadership delivery dashboards.

• Proven ability to coordinate efforts across multiple stakeholders and programs concurrently.
