Scientific Program Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Assist the NIAID SBIR/STTR team in addressing program-related inquiries from applicants.

• Relay information about NIAID's research activities, funding opportunities, and programs to small biomedical enterprises.

• Conduct analyses of extramural small-business biomedical research aligned with NIAID's mission areas, including infectious diseases, immunology, and HIV/AIDS.

• Assess research and biomedical product outcomes by reviewing scientific literature and biotechnology studies.

• Aid in the evaluation and development of small-business and technology-development initiatives.

• Identify and monitor commercialization resources, such as SBDCs, biotech investment opportunities, and business-development prospects.

• Organize outreach initiatives aimed at attracting and retaining small biomedical companies.

• Engage with researchers, business proprietors, NIH/NIAID personnel, and other Institutes/Centers.

• Create and maintain success stories for SBIR/STTR, FAQs, website content, mailing lists, and regular updates.

• Act as the primary point of contact for web content related to the NIAID Small Business Program on a daily basis.

• Collaborate with the NIH SEED Office and NIAID program staff on pertinent initiatives.

• Offer technical and program support concerning SBIR/STTR activities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Background in biomedical sciences, biotechnology, life sciences, public health, or a closely related scientific discipline.

• Preferably, experience with NIH/NIAID and SBIR/STTR programs.

• Familiarity with infectious diseases, immunology, HIV/AIDS, vaccines, therapeutics, diagnostics, or related biomedical research fields.

• Proven experience in supporting biomedical small businesses, researchers, grant programs, or technology commercialization efforts.

• Excellent skills in scientific research, literature review, analysis, writing, and communication.

• Previous experience with federal/NIH programs is highly preferred.
