School Finance Analyst – Part Time

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Provide support for financial and accounting operations in a portfolio of schools.

• Oversee accounts payable, payroll, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, grants management, and ensure financial compliance.

• Work in conjunction with School Finance Specialists to keep accounting records and schedules up to date.

• Generate monthly financial statements.

• Aid in the preparation for audits.

• Complete the annual issuance of 1099 forms and other ad-hoc financial reports.

• Act as a liaison with school staff.

• Manage payroll and accounts payable independently across several schools.

• Learn and perform key aspects of the monthly accounting close process, including grants management, journal entries, account reconciliations, and bank reconciliations.

• Assist in the annual financial audit processes.

• Assume greater responsibility for day-to-day accounting and finance functions for assigned schools.

• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.

• Proficient in Excel, with knowledge of formulas such as VLOOKUP and SUMIFS.

• Possess a quantitative or technical background through professional experience or academic courses.

• High attention to detail.

• General familiarity with technology systems, including Google Suite and financial software.

• Willingness to utilize new technologies, particularly AI tools.

• Educational background or experience in business, economics, finance, or accounting.

• Relevant post-secondary education and/or work experience typically associated with Finance Analysts.

• Ability to communicate proactively and understand the connections of work to both internal and external stakeholders.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels within the organization.

• Capability to work autonomously and take initiative on assigned tasks.
