SAP Solutions Architect – Sales & Pre-Sales

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with Account Executives on qualified leads and participate in discovery calls to evaluate prospects’ SAP environments, business motivations, and technical limitations.

• Develop comprehensive target-state architectures that encompass ECC-to-S/4HANA migration, RISE with SAP, SAP AMS Functional Support, managed hosting on AWS/Azure/GCP, and SAP BTP extensions.

• Facilitate technical presentations, solution demonstrations, and proof-of-concept initiatives.

• Manage the technical content for RFP/RFI/RFQ submissions, including architecture diagrams, technical narratives, scope assumptions, and effort/staffing estimates.

• Serve as a trusted technical advisor throughout the sales process, addressing technical objections and distinguishing Protera from competitors.

• Create, analyze, and present pricing models to clients.

• Assist in contract and statement-of-work negotiations by confirming technical scope, assumptions, and feasibility.

• Ensure a smooth technical transition from sales to delivery.

• Collaborate with SAP alliance and partner teams regarding the SAP roadmap, RISE with SAP updates, BTP capabilities, and co-selling opportunities.

• Contribute to reusable sales intellectual property, which includes reference architectures, estimation models, demo environments, and competitive positioning materials.

• Mentor junior solutions architects and sales engineers.

• Represent Protera as a subject-matter expert at industry events, webinars, and analyst interactions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in SAP consulting, technical architecture, or managed services, with hands-on design of enterprise SAP landscapes.

• Proven experience in supporting sales or pre-sales processes—RFPs, demonstrations, solution design, or scope definition—for SAP hosting, S/4HANA migration, Functional AMS, RISE with SAP, or managed services.

• Extensive working knowledge of several of the following: Core ERP Modules, SAP Basis, technical cloud architecture, S/4HANA, ECC landscape design, and/or SAP BTP.

• Familiarity with at least one major cloud platform: AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud, within an SAP hosting environment.

• Capability to estimate scope, effort, and risk associated with SAP migration and managed-services projects.

• Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage credibly with both technical stakeholders and C-level business executives.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

• Preferred: Direct involvement with RISE with SAP or ECC-to-S/4HANA migration projects, including migration methodologies and business-case development.

• Preferred: SAP certifications and/or architecture credentials such as TOGAF.

• Preferred: Acquaintance with CRM and proposal tools like Salesforce and CPQ.

• Preferred: Previous experience at a boutique SAP managed-services or hosting provider, systems integrator, or hyperscaler.

• Preferred: Industry expertise in manufacturing, financial services, CPG & retail, life sciences, or energy.
