Salesforce Marketing Cloud Product Owner

📋 Description

• Take ownership of and manage the Salesforce Marketing Cloud roadmap.

• Oversee stakeholder intake, gather requirements, prioritize tasks, and plan the backlog.

• Direct the planning of campaign operations, encompassing intake workflows, production schedules, QA checkpoints, approvals, readiness for deployment, release coordination, and post-launch evaluations.

• Align various product backlogs to enhance product value and streamline the delivery process.

• Track the health of the platform, system performance, readiness for sending, deliverability indicators, data movement, and operational risks.

• Handle escalated issues and coordinate resolutions with internal teams, Salesforce, and vendor partners.

• Collaborate with IT, CRM, data, analytics, privacy, compliance, and business stakeholders to convert business needs into scalable platform capabilities and marketing automation solutions.

• Develop and uphold governance standards, documentation, naming conventions, folder structures, operating procedures, QA checklists, and training materials.

• Assist in designing, executing, and optimizing customer journeys, email campaigns, automations, segmentation strategies, and personalization initiatives.

• Coordinate platform releases, Salesforce updates, vendor escalations, enhancement requests, and change management activities.

• Evaluate platform usage, campaign operations, performance trends, and stakeholder needs to uncover opportunities for automation, efficiency, personalization, scalability, and realization of value.

• Ensure that marketing automation activities adhere to compliance, consent, privacy, data governance, and deliverability standards.

• Act as the internal authority on the capabilities, limitations, operating model, governance, and best practices of Salesforce Marketing Cloud.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Information Systems, or a related area, or equivalent practical experience.

• Over 5 years of experience in marketing automation, marketing operations, CRM, digital marketing, or similar marketing technology roles.

• Practical experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud administration, campaign operations, journey management, segmentation, automation, and platform governance.

• Solid understanding of Salesforce Marketing Cloud business units, user roles, permissions, sender profiles, send classifications, subscriber management, and campaign deployment processes.

• Experience in managing stakeholder intake, prioritization, project planning, release coordination, documentation, and cross-functional delivery.

• Capability to translate business objectives into technical requirements and communicate platform capabilities, constraints, and operational trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.

• Strong leadership, analytical, organizational, communication, troubleshooting, and process improvement abilities.

• Knowledge of data privacy, consent management, email compliance, deliverability, and best practices for data quality.

• Certifications in Salesforce Marketing Cloud such as Marketing Cloud Administrator, Email Specialist, or Consultant.

• Experience with Salesforce CRM, Marketing Cloud Connect, Financial Services Cloud, Customer Data Platforms, data integrations, APIs, or related MarTech infrastructure.

• Familiarity with Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Email Studio, Content Builder, Contact Builder, Mobile Studio, Advertising, CloudPages, AMPscript, SQL, and HTML/CSS for troubleshooting emails.

• Background in a regulated or data-sensitive industry, preferably in financial services.

• Experience in managing vendor relationships, platform roadmaps, QBRs, support escalations, and maturity planning.

• Proven track record in building scalable governance models, intake processes, QA standards, training resources, and operational playbooks.

• Ability to communicate effectively in person, over the phone, and through electronic channels.

• Proficient in frequent computer usage, including typing and maintaining focus on a monitor.

• Capacity to sit, walk, and/or stand for extended durations.

• Ability to bend and reach as necessary.
