This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Promote and sell primary care products to healthcare providers within the designated Manhattan territory north of 35th Street.
• Drive demand, provide clinical education, and boost sales by developing, coordinating, and implementing a strategic business plan for Primary Care Physicians.
• Educate and engage healthcare professionals on clinical evidence, approved indications, and product efficacy and safety profiles to support on-label prescribing.
• Independently manage sales performance to ensure forecasts and assigned budgets meet or exceed territory expectations.
• Build and nurture professional relationships with primary care healthcare professionals and pharmacy staff.
• Develop and maintain an understanding of market, demographic, and managed care information specific to the assigned territory.
• Encourage appropriate utilization of approved primary care products and facilitate payer and community healthcare provider pull-through with cross-functional partners.
• Formulate local strategies and business plans in collaboration with the District Sales Manager and Regional Sales Director.
• Implement targeting plans utilizing promotional, digital, personnel, and analytical resources.
• Manage business opportunities and challenges by leveraging knowledge of the primary care marketplace, competitors, industry trends, and cross-functional activities.
• Deliver healthcare provider education through programs aligned with Shionogi guidelines.
• Offer strategic and tactical input to commercial colleagues.
• Prioritize physician coverage through both in-person and virtual discussions.
• Understand customer product and business needs while upholding company ethics and compliance standards.
• Anticipate potential barriers and propose responsible solutions.
• Address customer objections and strive to exceed customer expectations.
• Share exemplary skills with regional colleagues in a training capacity when requested.
• Utilize emerging technologies to enhance performance.
• Comply with pharmaceutical industry guidelines and regulations while maintaining high ethical standards.
• BS/BA degree is required.
• A minimum of 3+ years of experience in pharmaceutical, medical device, or related transferable sales experience.
• Proven history of consistent high performance in a sales-oriented role or other relevant experience.
• Established record of developing long-term relationships with customers.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple clients effectively.
• Strong understanding of the primary care market and healthcare industry is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated ethical behavior and compliance with company policies and applicable laws.
• Knowledge of the medical, healthcare, or pharmacy industry, along with clinical skills, is preferred.
• Experience with product launches is a plus.
• Familiarity with the territory and established relationships with key stakeholders is advantageous.
• Proficiency in Veeva CRM, Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and calendar-based call planning tools is a plus.
• Marketing and other commercial experience with an understanding of financial processes, Market Access, Project Management, and the regulatory environment within the biotech/pharma industry is a plus.
• Strong written, organizational, administrative, and communication skills.

• Pass live call certification and mock objections during training.
• Attend refresher meetings on product and disease-state updates.
• Significant field travel is required, approximately 80%, which may include overnight and/or weekend work.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a thorough background check.
• Valid licenses and credentialing are required to conduct business in the assigned territory.
• Ability to drive or fly to target accounts, customers, meetings, and conventions.
