This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Oversee and enhance local sales initiatives in Pharma, Biotech, and Industrial sectors.
• Engage in consultative selling of Avantor’s range of products and services to both existing and potential clients.
• Provide detailed product information, assess customer needs and requirements, and propose tailored solutions.
• Utilize resources effectively to execute the company's marketing plans, strategies, and sales processes.
• Cultivate and maintain customer relationships while ensuring satisfaction and loyalty.
• Create strategic business plans and strategies for sales growth and achieving quotas within the designated territory.
• Manage Avantor’s product offerings and execute sales and marketing strategies.
• Identify and secure new customers by overseeing a sales pipeline and presenting proposals.
• Enhance Avantor’s engagement with current clients through effective retention strategies.
• Act as a representative to foster strong relationships with manufacturers.
• Collaborate with local manufacturer representatives to enhance product knowledge, pricing strategies, and account profitability.
• A college degree or an equivalent level of relevant experience is required.
• A preferred 2–5 years of experience in a complex sales environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Teams.
• Preferred familiarity with CRM systems and Qlikview.
• Preference for experience in laboratory or research environments and/or distribution experience with a scientific background.
• A bachelor’s degree in the sciences is preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Capability to engage in business conversations with business owners and decision-makers.
• Ability to work independently and effectively manage time and territory.
• Excellent analytical skills and a strategic approach to selling within accounts.
• Aptitude for understanding individual customer operations.
• Willingness to travel to customer locations five days a week.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
