This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +3 more states.
• Identify, qualify, and assist in capturing business opportunities within the data center, utility, and Independent Power Producer (IPP) sectors.
• Oversee key accounts and establish Ford Energy as a premier domestic provider of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
• Evaluate market trends, regulatory changes, and competitive landscapes to enhance go-to-market approaches.
• Develop and sustain relationships with technical decision-makers and project managers.
• Facilitate technical workshops, site inspections, and factory tours.
• Clearly communicate Ford Energy’s product capabilities and financial value proposition.
• Gather and relay customer feedback on technical needs to product development teams.
• Assist in structuring and negotiating supply and service agreements.
• Coordinate technical and commercial proposals in accordance with pricing and risk protocols.
• Lead cross-functional teams, including PMO, Engineering, Finance, Legal, and Manufacturing, to ensure successful bid submissions.
• Provide counsel to clients on intricate technical subjects.
• Collaborate with the engineering team in Dearborn and the manufacturing team in Kentucky to align customer needs with product roadmap features.
• Report directly to the Director of Sales.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related discipline is required.
• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience.
• Strong preference for 2+ years in technical sales, commercial account management, or business development within the BESS, renewable energy, utility, or grid infrastructure fields.
• Demonstrated experience in selling highly technical, capital-intensive products or complex industrial solutions.
• Ability to rapidly learn, master, and communicate complex BESS technology, battery chemistry, and grid-integration dynamics.
• Strong business etiquette and professional presentation capabilities.
• Developing financial acumen to support negotiations of multi-million-dollar contracts.
• High-achievement orientation with a competitive, startup mentality.
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity and proactive in addressing challenges.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Capacity to collaborate across functions and cultures.
• Preference for candidates located in Southeast Michigan (Dearborn area), with consideration for those in Glendale, Kentucky, or Palo Alto, California.
• Willingness to travel domestically, up to 50% of the time.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
