This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Generate a robust pipeline of qualified leads by engaging with leaders and collaborating with large school districts.
• Perform high-volume outbound prospecting through well-planned email campaigns and focused daily phone outreach.
• Spearhead SDR outreach for Newsela’s Core product, concentrating on state initiatives and intricate curriculum adoption cycles, including California ELA and Core curriculum adoptions.
• Investigate district curriculum adoption schedules and pinpoint evaluation and purchasing stages.
• Assess district requirements through consultative discussions and convert high-potential leads into qualified Strategic Sales opportunities.
• Collaborate with Account Executives on territory strategies, coordinated outreach efforts, and introductory meetings.
• Work together with the Sales team to enhance strategies and processes while shaping the Core product go-to-market playbook.
• Serve as the first point of contact for prospects, representing Newsela and its educational technology solutions.
• Review calls, exchange best practices, and refine personalized talk tracks and email outreach.
• Utilize data insights and maintain CRM data integrity to track outreach efforts, prioritize leads, and manage the sales pipeline.
• A minimum of 3 years in K-12 education OR at least 1 year of inside sales experience with a demonstrated history of engaging prospects to secure qualified meetings.
• Familiarity with the California K-12 district landscape.
• Demonstrated understanding of district purchasing cycles and curriculum adoption timelines.
• Experience or background in 6–12 Secondary ELA and ELD instruction or curriculum adoption is a significant advantage.
• A background in supporting ELLs and MLLs through instruction, targeted interventions, or curriculum integration is highly desirable.
• Capability to research and remain informed about the region as a territory expert.
• Proficient in tracking account activity and managing numerous school accounts across assigned states.
• Possess intellectual curiosity and adaptability; ability to seek feedback, master Newsela’s entire product suite, and continuously refine approaches.
• High intrinsic motivation, excellent time management and organizational skills, and proactive management of daily tasks.
• Familiarity with Salesforce, Salesloft, and/or Outreach.io.
• Strong communication abilities and a knack for empathizing with K-12 buyers while translating insights into compelling value propositions.
• Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment and utilize creativity when collaborating with team members.
• Experience in leveraging AI tools to enhance efficiency and productivity.
