Ruby Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful and GraphQL APIs.

• Write production-quality Ruby code for essential services and applications.

• Collaborate with technical leaders to ensure the quality, security, and maintainability of code.

• Develop integrations with internal systems, external platforms, and third-party applications.

• Create and uphold API documentation and development standards.

• Implement best practices for authentication, authorization, encryption, and API security.

• Monitor and enhance API performance, reliability, and scalability.

• Support API versioning and ensure backward compatibility.

• Troubleshoot production issues and participate in Tier 1/Tier 2 on-call rotations.

• Advocate for the use of AI-driven development tools to boost productivity and code quality.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of experience in Ruby on Rails development.

• Extensive experience in designing, building, and supporting APIs.

• Proficiency with PostgreSQL, MySQL, or other relational databases.

• Familiarity with the RSpec testing framework.

• Strong skills in troubleshooting and problem-solving.

• Experience in Agile software development environments.

• Must have authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

• Ability to obtain and retain a Public Trust clearance.

• Must have resided continuously in the United States for the past three consecutive years.

• Must pass a government suitability review and background investigation successfully.

• Preferred: experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.

• Preferred: knowledge of OAuth and secure software development practices.

• Preferred: experience with Git version control.

• Preferred: experience with Sidekiq or similar asynchronous processing tools.

• Preferred: exposure to Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architectures.

• Federal government experience is preferred.
