This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.
• Implement new robotic systems at client locations, encompassing installation, commissioning, validation, and handover to customers.
• Conduct preventative maintenance on autonomous robotic systems.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, controls, and networking-related challenges.
• Carry out repairs, upgrades, retrofits, and modifications in the field.
• Assist customers in ramping up and achieving operational readiness post-deployment.
• Collaborate directly with clients to enhance uptime, reliability, and operational efficiency.
• Record failures, gather field data, and aid in root cause analyses.
• Work closely with Engineering to enhance product reliability and maintainability.
• Contribute to the creation of maintenance protocols, service standards, troubleshooting manuals, and best practices.
• Aid in product validation, pilot projects, and the introduction of new products.
• Travel across the United States for deployments, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, upgrades, and urgent service situations.
• Support client operations as part of Tutor's Maintenance and Field Service team.
• Impact future product design, reliability enhancements, and fleet scalability.
• Proven experience in troubleshooting, repairing, assembling, maintaining, or deploying electromechanical systems.
• Strong mechanical skills and hands-on problem-solving capabilities.
• Proficiency in diagnosing electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and control-related issues.
• Familiarity with motors, sensors, actuators, drives, pneumatics, conveyors, robotics, industrial automation, CNC machinery, AGVs, AMRs, or comparable systems.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation.
• Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, multimeters, and diagnostic equipment.
• Excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor when interacting with customers.
• Capable of working independently and taking charge of problem-solving.
• Eagerness to learn new technologies and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Valid driver's license and readiness to travel extensively.
• Approximately 75% travel required across the United States.
• Experience in robotics or automation is an advantage.
• Field service background is an advantage.
• Experience in PLC troubleshooting is a plus.
• Knowledge of networking or Linux is a plus.
• Familiarity with ROS is a plus.
• Experience in a startup or high-growth company is a plus.
• Military technical background is a plus.
• Experience in fabrication, machining, welding, or 3D printing is a plus.
• An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, Electronics, Industrial Technology, or a related discipline is a plus.
