CNC Field Service Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Travel to client locations for the installation, repair, maintenance, and servicing of machine tool equipment and controls.

• Diagnose and rectify issues with CNC machinery.

• Utilize online technical documents, manuals, and vendor resources to investigate machine-related problems.

• Accurately complete and submit documentation regarding machine issues, repairs, and installations.

• Advocate for and conduct preventive maintenance on customer machine tool equipment.

• Deliver after-sales technical support and training to customers.

• Maintain extensive knowledge of the machine tool industry and the company’s product offerings.

• Report directly to the Service Manager.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in mechanical or electrical repair or engineering is preferred.

• Background in CNC repair is advantageous.

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting drawings and schematics is necessary.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and other software applications is a plus.

• Competence in using a laptop, smartphone, and various software tools.

• Exceptional technical, communication, and presentation skills are essential.

• Capability to regularly lift 40–50 pounds.

• Willingness to work flexible hours and frequently travel and drive within a regional area.

• Strong mechanical and electrical skills are required.

• Ability to operate in industrial settings and adhere to necessary PPE requirements.

• Capacity to work in confined spaces or awkward postures.

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, reach, and access elevated areas for extended durations.

• Strong hand-eye coordination and fine motor abilities are necessary.

• Capability to fulfill the physical and mental demands of the position.
