This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee risk management activities with a focus on business insurance.
• Coordinate insurance coverage, risk financing, claims, and initiatives aimed at reducing insurance-related risks and costs.
• Collaborate with the VP of Risk and Compliance and the Risk Management team to prioritize risk program objectives.
• Manage specialized risk and business insurance operations with both internal and external partners, including brokers and carriers.
• Address insurance coverage requirements to minimize organizational exposure, costs, and mitigation strategies.
• Work alongside the Workers’ Compensation risk manager to handle claims risk, exposure, and care initiatives.
• Collaborate with legal counsel on settlements and recommendations for Maximum Medical Improvement.
• Complete annual business insurance applications during the renewal period in conjunction with the VP of Risk and the broker.
• Identify organizational trends by utilizing internal and external software, as well as broker and carrier programs.
• Analyze loss runs, prevention strategies, claims management, trends, exposures, financial improvement opportunities, and risk activities to assist leadership and the executive board in decision-making.
• Supervise risk assessments for business insurance programs and implement risk mitigation strategies.
• Apply analytical skills, monitor programs, and ensure compliance with insurance laws and industry standards.
• Provide guidance and support to the organization, departmental team members, clients, and employees affected by risk activities.
• Uphold the core values of the organization.
• An associate or bachelor’s degree in relevant fields such as risk, compliance, healthcare, law, insurance, or equivalent experience combined with another supportive degree in a related area.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in healthcare administration, compliance, risk management, insurance or claims management, employment law, patient safety, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, complex environment while maintaining a sense of urgency.
• Capacity to establish and sustain productive relationships with cross-functional colleagues while adhering to core values.
• Consideration will be given to any suitable combination of education, training, and experience.
• Experience or knowledge in healthcare staffing is advantageous.
• Previous experience in business insurance management, covering multiple lines of business insurance, is a plus.
• Certifications such as ARM, insurance certification, HCRM, Employment Law, or training programs in related risk and/or insurance areas are beneficial.
