This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee risk management activities with a focus on business insurance.
• Manage insurance coverage, risk financing, claims, and initiatives to minimize insurance-related risks and costs.
• Align risk program priorities with the VP of Risk & Compliance and the Risk Management team.
• Handle specialty risk insurance and business insurance tasks in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including brokers and carriers.
• Assess insurance coverage requirements, organizational exposure, costs, and mitigation strategies with relevant parties.
• Collaborate with the Workers’ Compensation risk manager to oversee claims risk, exposure-limiting initiatives, and appropriate care measures.
• Work with legal counsel on settlements and recommendations for Maximum Medical Improvement.
• Complete annual business insurance applications during the renewal period alongside the VP of Risk & Compliance and the broker.
• Identify organizational trends utilizing internal and external analytical tools and broker/carrier programs.
• Examine loss runs, prevention initiatives, claims management, trends, exposures, opportunities for financial improvement, and risk management efforts for leadership and the executive board.
• Direct risk assessments for all business insurance programs and implement strategies for risk mitigation.
• Apply analytical skills to monitor programs and ensure compliance with insurance laws and industry standards.
• Provide guidance to the organization, departmental team members, clients, and employees affected by risk activities.
• Uphold the core values of the organization.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in relevant fields such as risk, compliance, healthcare, law, insurance, or equivalent experience paired with another supportive degree in a related area.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in healthcare administration, compliance, risk management, insurance or claims management, employment law, patient safety, or a related field.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Capable of thriving in a fast-paced and complex environment while maintaining a sense of urgency.
• Skilled in building and sustaining productive working relationships with colleagues across various functions, while embodying core values.
• Acceptable combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered.
• Experience or knowledge in healthcare staffing is desirable.
• Previous experience in managing business insurance across multiple lines is preferred.
• Professional certifications such as an Associate in Risk Management (ARM), HCRM, or training programs in related risk and insurance areas are a plus.
