This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Process and pre-underwrite conventional, FHA, VA, and Bond mortgage loans.
• Ensure adherence to Company policies, secondary-market investor standards, government agency regulations, as well as federal, state, and local requirements.
• Meet production and quality benchmarks.
• Act as a liaison among loan officers, borrowers, underwriters, and funding departments.
• Prepare and review loan files to ensure completeness and compliance before submission.
• Monitor the loan processing cycle time and address issues that could postpone closing.
• Serve as a subject-matter expert or lead in the absence of the Supervisor/Lead.
• Analyze loan-to-value ratios, debt-to-income ratios, credit reports, applications, income, assets, down-payment sources, and supporting documentation.
• Order and review third-party documentation, including credit checks, title reports, appraisals, tax returns, and employment/asset verifications.
• Verify ratios and validate AUS findings and program suitability.
• Review the integrity of documentation and submit loan files to underwriting.
• Identify qualifying and program-related issues and restructure loans as necessary.
• Provide program options and recommendations in line with guidelines.
• Update and verify data within systems.
• Obtain and confirm clearance of underwriting conditions and prepare files for closing.
• Order the generation of loan documents.
• Mentor and guide less experienced Processors.
• Draft professional correspondence and emails utilizing templates.
• Provide status updates to Loan Officers and borrowers.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• A minimum of five years of recent experience as a Loan Processor.
• At least two years of experience processing VA and Bond mortgage loans.
• Experience with processing conventional and FHA loans is preferred.
• Expert knowledge of internal mortgage lending processes and controls.
• In-depth understanding of federal, state, and regulatory requirements and guidelines for consumer mortgage lending.
• Expert knowledge of conventional, FHA, VA, and Bond mortgage loans and associated program/investor guidelines.
• Proficient in new construction documentation and condominium projects.
• Extensive knowledge of documentation required for consumer mortgage applications.
• Strong ability to cultivate relationships with both internal and external partners.
• Excellent judgment and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
• Exceptional customer service, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Intermediate level of math skills.
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Experience with internal data-entry systems, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PDF/Document Retention programs.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Wiki, collaborative cloud-based tools, and third-party software applications.
