This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.
• Conduct research and resolve complex collection account balances in accordance with DaVita policies as well as federal and state billing regulations.
• Offer continuous training and support for Specialist Patient Account colleagues.
• Analyze weekly and monthly key metrics to pinpoint trends and focus areas.
• Create, document, and execute action plans in collaboration with management.
• Recognize payer trends and identify root causes of billing or claim discrepancies.
• Address or escalate issues to mitigate bad debt.
• Interpret policies regarding exceptions effectively.
• Assess and implement suitable business actions in unclear situations.
• Serve as a resource for colleague inquiries and challenging payer matters.
• Facilitate training for new colleagues and lead both individual and group training sessions.
• Suggest improvements to collection teams, tools, policies, and procedures.
• Conduct close reconciliation approvals for primary, secondary, and tertiary insurance claims.
• Review and authorize adjustments and claim appeals.
• Carry out quality assurance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Support departmental initiatives and handle multiple projects concurrently.
• Stay informed about ESRD and Medicare Secondary Provider laws and updates.
• Uphold confidentiality regarding patient, colleague, and company information.
• Participate in team meetings, phone conferences, and training sessions.
• Engage in DaVita village and neighborhood initiatives.
• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Two to four years of experience in healthcare reimbursement and revenue cycle management is preferred.
• Intermediate proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Availability to accommodate PST hours.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Capability to manage and lead multiple projects, meet deadlines, and adjust priorities as needed.
• Ability to interact positively with all levels within the company.
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations and DaVita policies.
• Consistent, regular, and punctual attendance is essential.
• Overtime may be necessary.
• Travel less than 5% is required.
