Credit & Collections Specialist I

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to minimize accounts receivable that are over 60 days old

• Reach out to customers through phone calls, emails, and letters

• Maintain confidentiality while managing sensitive information

• Generate updates on account resolutions for various leadership tiers

• Record all actions and efforts made to reduce outstanding balances

• Assemble placement packages for external attorneys in anticipation of potential litigation

• Engage in telephone communication with operations management, healthcare professionals, attorneys, and internal stakeholders

• Utilize tools to enhance billing information accuracy

• Conduct research and assess intricate projects or tasks to identify and measure financial impacts

• Evaluate and determine opportunities for process enhancements and educational initiatives

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent qualification

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a call center, customer service, collections, or healthcare billing

• Previous experience in meeting deadlines and achieving weekly targets

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel

• Ability to gather and organize data effectively

• Strong critical thinking skills along with a fundamental understanding of medical terminology and basic computer skills

• Capability to work independently and manage time efficiently

• A dedicated, distraction-free workspace

• Internet download speed must be at least 50 Mbps (satellite internet is not permitted)

• Equipment must be connected via Ethernet (Wi-Fi, mobile routers, or hotspots are not supported)
