Revenue Specialist I – Appeals, Denials

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.

📋 Description

• Build and sustain relationships with insurance providers.

• Secure payments from insurance companies for any outstanding patient balances.

• Investigate and resolve problematic accounts.

• Optimize collections to meet performance targets.

• Communicate with insurance payers via phone, email, and insurance carrier portals to address account issues.

• Analyze trends and conduct root cause analysis on claims that are unpaid or underpaid.

• Investigate, appeal, and address claim rejections, underpayments, and denials.

• Foster and maintain positive working relationships with clinical staff, colleagues, and insurance representatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or GED is required.

• An Associate's or Bachelor’s degree is highly preferred.

• Experience with denials and appeals is preferred.

• The candidate should be willing to work during PST hours.

• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills for effective research and problem-solving.

• Experience in healthcare and medical billing/collections is preferred.

• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

• Proven track record of resolving complex issues.

• Ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with insurance companies and their representatives.
