This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take charge of the accounting role within the deal desk, ensuring the review of MSAs, order forms, SOWs, and amendments prior to execution for revenue recognition considerations.
• Recognize and escalate ASC 606 concerns in ongoing deals, including multi-element arrangements, performance obligations, SSP allocation, variable consideration, contract modifications, cancellation and refund policies, SLA credits, and principal-versus-agent dilemmas.
• Provide real-time advice to Sales, Legal, and Strategic Finance regarding deal structures and suggest commercially viable frameworks that reduce downstream complexities.
• Develop deal review workflows, establish approval thresholds, create deal checklists, and set documentation standards.
• Convert accounting requirements into business-friendly language and act as a solution-focused business partner.
• Manage the transition from executed contracts to the setup of accounting and billing systems.
• Collaborate with Sales Operations to ensure the accuracy of CRM/CPQ and billing systems.
• Oversee workflows related to contract amendments, renewals, and upsells across various systems.
• Create and uphold contract intake processes and documentation standards.
• Serve as the main accounting partner for Sales, Sales Operations, Strategic Finance, and Legal teams.
• Coordinate with the Sales Operations Manager on deal structures, pricing mechanics, and quote-to-cash handoffs.
• Assist the Controller and Revenue Accounting Manager with complex deal revenue recognition contexts during closing and audits.
• Support Strategic Finance by analyzing SaaS business metrics.
• Contribute to commercial governance policies, guidance on non-standard terms, and cross-functional training initiatives.
• CPA certification is mandatory.
• A minimum of 6 years of accounting experience is required.
• At least 3 years of experience in a deal desk, contract review, or revenue operations accounting role within a SaaS organization.
• Proven hands-on experience in deal desk operations, reviewing contracts, and advising Sales during negotiations.
• Experience in creating deal review playbooks, intake workflows, and approval matrices.
• Strong understanding of SaaS metrics such as ARR, NRR, bookings, and renewals.
• Proficient in usage-based and hybrid billing models, SSP allocation, principal vs. agent analysis, variable consideration, contract modifications, and accounting for multi-element arrangements.
• A senior contributor with an operational mindset, capable of working independently without direct reports.
• Familiarity with B2B SaaS enterprise deal structures and the complexities of revenue recognition.
• Demonstrated experience in utilizing AI and automation within financial operations; comfortable working with AI tools.
• Experience with CPQ/CRM tools and billing systems, such as Salesforce and NetSuite, is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of Tableau and BigQuery is advantageous.
• A background in public accounting, preferably with Big 4 or mid-tier firms, is required.
• Experience in the SaaS industry is essential.
