
Revenue Cycle Director – Mission Liaison

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as a senior operational representative between CommonSpirit revenue cycle leadership, market and facility leaders, Guidehouse Managed Services, Epic, CSI, and other vendor partners.
• Assist in the stabilization of the revenue cycle, execution of command center activities, escalation of market issues, review of KPIs, alignment of workflows, and operational readiness following the transition of CommonSpirit's revenue cycle.
• Convert enterprise priorities into actionable steps at the market level, reinforce standard workflows, track revenue cycle performance, and ensure the prompt resolution of obstacles affecting cash flow, claims, accounts receivable, denials, Notice of Admission (NOA), billing, payment posting, charge capture, and other related hospital revenue cycle functions.
• Serve as a prominent revenue cycle leader and reliable liaison throughout transition, go-live, and stabilization phases.
• Facilitate daily operational alignment among CommonSpirit, Guidehouse, Epic, CSI, and vendor teams to identify, prioritize, and address revenue cycle challenges.
• Support command center routines, Liaison Leader Huddles, HB Acute Dashboard meetings, preparation of Market Top 10, review of National Top 10, and preparation of Revenue Cycle Executive Report Out.
• Oversee revenue cycle KPIs and operational dashboards, including cash posted, accounts receivable days, aged accounts receivable, days in accounts receivable (DNFB), cash flow balance (CFB), clean claim rate, claim edits, denial trends, charge lag, registration quality, payment posting, and reconciliation metrics.
• Analyze daily market and functional performance trends, identify areas that are off-track, and escalate critical risks.
• Collaborate with operational leaders to validate work queue movement, complete inventory, follow up with payers, resolve denials, correct billing, post payments, and reconcile accounts.
• Assist in the documentation, prioritization, and resolution of issues using ServiceNow, functional huddles, vendor meetings, dashboards, and channels for leadership escalation.
• Ensure compliance with standard workflows, payer requirements, hospital policies, HIPAA, regulatory expectations, and approved operating procedures.
• Collaborate with leaders from Patient Access, HIM, Coding/CDI, Revenue Integrity, Billing, A/R Follow-Up, Denials, NOA, Cash Posting, Credit Balance, Contract Compliance, and Finance.
• Provide updates for executives that cover prioritized issues, root causes, mitigation strategies, action items, responsible parties, due dates, and next-day priorities.
• Maintain a leadership presence during go-live and post-live stabilization, validate process adoption, and direct barriers to the appropriate owners.
• Assist in the creation and enhancement of job aids, standard operating procedures (SOPs), reporting expectations, escalation pathways, meeting materials, and communication tools.
• Maintain a visible leadership presence, encourage issue identification and timely escalation, verify work progression and reporting reconciliation, and ensure that productivity, quality, and inventory movement are monitored.
• Bachelor’s degree and at least 12 years of relevant healthcare revenue cycle experience; relevant experience may substitute for formal education or an advanced degree when appropriate.
• Extensive leadership experience in hospital revenue cycles within a provider, health system, CBO, shared services, outsourcing, consulting, or managed services environment.
• Proven experience in managing complex revenue cycle operations, providing transition support, stabilizing operations, resolving cross-functional issues, and communicating at the executive level.
• Strong understanding of hospital billing, accounts receivable follow-up, denials, payment posting, cash reconciliation, revenue integrity, HIM/coding dependencies, NOA, patient access, payer escalation, and management of revenue cycle KPIs.
• Capability to facilitate onsite or hybrid market engagement as required by the CommonSpirit operating model, including travel or onsite presence during critical transition and stabilization phases.
• Preference for candidates who can engage with CommonSpirit market leadership and transition activities with flexibility, urgency, and executive presence.
• Experience supporting large-scale revenue cycle transitions, insourcing initiatives, vendor transitions, command center operations, or stabilization after go-live.
• Familiarity with Epic, MEDITECH, hospital billing systems, payer portals, work queue management, dashboard reporting, ServiceNow, or similar revenue cycle tools.
• Solid understanding of HFMA MAP metrics, hospital revenue cycle performance metrics, payer escalation protocols, denial prevention, underpayment resolution, and operational reporting.
• Ability to create concise executive materials, distill complex operational issues, and present clear recommendations to senior revenue cycle, finance, market, and facility leadership.
