Director, Walk to End Alzheimer's

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +16 more states.

📋 Description

• Act as a strategic leader for the Association’s premier Walk to End Alzheimer’s event.

• Provide comprehensive field support, training, and resources for both staff and volunteers.

• Formulate strategies to enhance team growth and increase fundraising revenue.

• Collaborate as a member of the Home Office Walk to End Alzheimer’s team to oversee revenue growth and strategic initiatives.

• Manage the national Walk to End Alzheimer’s program, including training, resources, and strategies for the Chapter network and volunteers.

• Create and deliver training and consultation for Territories, Chapters, and Cohorts.

• Partner with field teams to offer training, pinpoint opportunities, and devise growth plans, strategies, and tactics that align with event standards and best practices.

• Design nationwide, regional, and local training plans for staff and volunteers.

• Oversee and implement a comprehensive training curriculum that includes web-based tools, specialized programs, and weekly sessions.

• Lead consulting and training initiatives for assigned Walk programs.

• Spearhead the development of nationwide onboarding and training curricula, incorporating face-to-face and web-based training, resources, and support.

• Monitor, assess, and identify growth opportunities during both planning and ongoing operations.

• Analyze both quantitative and qualitative results to develop strategies based on findings.

• Manage all resources and materials related to the Walk to End Alzheimer’s.

• Report directly to the Senior Director of Walk to End Alzheimer’s.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.

• Over 10 years of national or regional event management and training experience within a non-profit setting.

• Proven experience in executing a Walk with a budget exceeding $1M.

• Demonstrated success in recruiting C-suite leaders to participate in leading a Walk.

• Background in securing top-tier sponsorships.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in managing and coaching staff.

• Experience in organizing Walk events.

• Capability to adapt program experiences to fit the organization's needs.

• Proficiency in interfacing with all levels of staff and volunteers.

• Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines under pressure.

• Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational capabilities.

• Competence in handling diverse assignments and adapting to evolving circumstances.

• Excellent written, verbal, and communication skills, including the ability to deliver presentations, convey ideas, and provide effective instruction.

• Ability to work independently, exercise judgment, and take initiative.

• Self-motivated individual who requires minimal supervision.

• Familiarity with computer systems and databases.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

• Experience with Luminate is highly advantageous.

• Willingness to travel up to 70% of the time.
