Revenue Cycle Consultant, Staff Consultant I

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver expert consulting services that cater to the revenue cycle and operational needs of the Defense Health Agency client.

• Examine and reconcile accounts receivable data to uncover trends, patterns, errors, and opportunities for enhancement.

• Assist in the creation and execution of accounts receivable management strategies and best practices.

• Engage in discussions and meetings with clients regarding accounts receivable insights and recommendations.

• Generate reports and presentations that summarize accounts receivable performance metrics.

• Prepare and organize documentation for both internal and external audits related to the revenue cycle.

• Formulate clear, concise, and well-supported responses to audit inquiries.

• Ensure that all documentation is precise, comprehensive, organized, and compliant with regulatory standards.

• Aid in the development and implementation of corrective action plans and audit remediation strategies, including monitoring progress.

• Support compliance policies, procedures, and internal controls that pertain to revenue cycle activities.

• Oversee adherence to federal regulations, industry standards, Financial Management Regulations, and guidance from the Defense Health Agency.

• Participate in compliance audits and evaluations to identify potential risks and instances of non-compliance.

• Create training materials and presentations focused on compliance.

• Track and monitor compliance issues alongside their resolutions.

• Assist in the planning, execution, and oversight of projects.

• Contribute to the development of project plans, timelines, and deliverables.

• Monitor project progress and pinpoint risks and issues that may arise.

• Take part in internal and external team meetings as well as knowledge-sharing initiatives.

• Foster communication among project team members, business partners, and client stakeholders.

• Prepare status reports and presentations regarding project progress.

• Conduct research and analysis on industry trends, regulations, and best practices.

• Maintain a solid understanding of federal healthcare regulations and policies.


⛳️ Requirements

• 2 to 4 years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle operations, healthcare finance, or healthcare consulting.

• General knowledge of the complete revenue cycle process, including registration, charge capture, coding, billing, payment posting, denials, and collections.

• Experience in extracting and analyzing healthcare data to identify trends or errors and summarize findings.

• Familiarity with electronic health records or revenue cycle management systems.

• Ability to produce clear documentation, including process notes, standard operating procedures (SOPs), or reports.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the use of pivot tables, lookups, and basic formulas.

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.

• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Eagerness to learn new systems, federal regulations, and client-specific processes.

• Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, finance, accounting, or a related discipline.

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

• Preferred: proficiency with electronic health record and revenue cycle software and systems, such as Oracle/Cerner MHS GENESIS Patient Accounting Module CPAM, SSI Electronic Claims Clearinghouse, 3M 360 Encompass, Alpha II, Dentrix Billing, RevSpring, Excel, Power BI, SAS, Tableau, Qlik Sense, ABACUS, M2, MDR, EAS IV, and Health Data Intelligence/HealtheAnalytics.

• Preferred: hands-on experience in billing, claims follow-up, denials management, payment posting, or collections.

• Preferred: experience in supporting compliance reviews, audit readiness, or corrective action plans.

• Preferred: experience in creating training materials or delivering training sessions.

• Preferred: experience in supporting MHS, DHA, Veterans Health Administration, or other federal healthcare entities.

• Preferred: Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) or similar revenue cycle certification.
