Revenue Cycle Analyst – System Application Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist the Revenue Cycle team in enhancing revenue outcomes by analyzing clinical and financial processes, functions, and system interdependencies.

• Offer technical expertise in the analysis, design, construction, and support of the Epic HB Resolute application.

• Provide support to complex clinical departments and practices with considerable autonomy.

• Conduct audits aimed at ensuring revenue cycle integrity.

• Analyze, design, validate, implement, troubleshoot, and maintain the Epic Hospital Resolute application and Craneware system.

• Exhibit knowledge of Resolute HB, Charge Router, and their integration with other Epic applications.

• Test application builds to confirm that systems meet end-user requirements.

• Design, develop, and document system functionalities and clinical/operational workflows that facilitate accurate and compliant charge capture.

• Create test plans, execute testing, analyze outcomes, and finalize implementation plans.

• Assist in systems and workflow interfaces.

• Review existing functionalities and workflows to identify shortcomings and support improvement initiatives.

• Extract and manipulate financial and clinical data from various sources to enhance revenue integrity.

• Monitor productivity, charge lag, and charge volume utilizing Epic tools and reports.

• Identify and help mitigate backlogs and barriers in charge review and charge router review work queues.

• Generate reports, communicate pending charge issues, and assist departments as necessary.

• Identify and escalate pending charges, late charges, revenue opportunities, and concerns regarding revenue integrity.

• Resolve work queues promptly and address the root causes of charge lag issues.

• Provide training and education to department managers and staff on revenue cycle topics, charge entry, and charge codes.

• Act as a liaison between clinical areas, Hospital Financial Services, Information Technology Group, and Patient Business Services concerning Charge Capture activities.

• Collaborate with clinical areas, Financial Services, Health Information Services, Information Technology Group, and Charge Master Analysts to address charging issues and identify revenue opportunities.

• Participate in workflow meetings and facilitate as required.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of billing regulations and inform departments of changes in billing codes and requirements.

• Be an active member of the Revenue Cycle Team and foster a customer service-oriented approach.

• Engage in Revenue Cycle projects as directed by the Revenue Integrity Assistant Director and Director.

• Carry out other assigned duties as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• Master’s degree in computer science, a related field, or a clinical field with 2 years of related work experience in the information technology sector, or a combination of clinical or operational healthcare environments; OR

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related field, or a clinical field with 4 years of related work experience in the information technology sector, or a combination of clinical or operational healthcare environments; OR

• Associate’s degree in computer science, a related field, or a clinical field with 5 years of related work experience in the information technology sector, or a combination of clinical or operational healthcare environments; OR

• 6 years of relevant work experience in the information technology sector, or a combination of clinical or operational healthcare environments; OR

• Equivalent combination of education and experience where one year of experience substitutes for an Associate’s degree and two years of experience substitutes for a Bachelor’s degree.

• Proficient understanding of hospital operations and the patient care process.

• Advanced skills and practical knowledge of Excel.

• Proven experience in data analysis.

• Epic Certification is preferred.

• Experience in implementing an Integrated Enterprise Hospital System, preferably Epic.

• Experience in implementing technology that has driven fundamental changes in hospital environments.

• Ability to function in a highly autonomous role, showcasing self-motivation and creativity in design.

• Capacity to work effectively within a dynamic team environment.

• Ability to actively pursue problem resolution to meet customer needs.

• Skill in managing multiple complex tasks efficiently while meeting deadlines.

• Proficient in working with users to accurately assess and diagnose system issues as defined by them.

• Ability to manage extensive data and worksheets.

• Familiarity with the Epic Resolute Hospital Billing application.

• Current Epic Resolute Hospital Billing certifications are preferred.
