This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +13 more states.
• Collaborate with clients to gather essential information for the preparation of annual reports.
• Assess client-submitted documents to ensure they are complete and accurate.
• Reconcile plans that only involve rollovers and plan stock utilizing Excel and administrative software.
• Employ administrative software to conduct 401(k) testing and reporting.
• Make proactive reminder calls and send emails to clients throughout the plan-year reporting period.
• Prepare necessary government filings for 401(k) plans, including IRS Form 5500, using filing software.
• Provide education to clients regarding the administration of their 401(k) plans and associated documents.
• Share insights and simplify complex topics for better understanding.
• Train on concepts relevant to a Retirement Plan Administrator I position.
• Undertake additional duties as required.
• Proven experience in document review and transaction processing as part of daily job functions.
• 1 to 5 years of relevant back-office financial operations experience in areas such as benefits administration, money movement and wires, insurance claims processing, tax preparation processing, loan or mortgage document processing, or compliance and quality-control support.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Direct experience in retirement-plan operations, including 401(k) or IRA administration, recordkeeping, distributions and rollovers, compliance testing, or 5500 or year-end reporting is preferred.
• Experience with reconciliation as a daily responsibility is preferred.
• An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as business or finance, or equivalent work experience is preferred.
• Basic understanding of 401(k) plan structures, ROBS, and IRS/DOL regulations is preferred.
