This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +13 more states.
• Collaborate with clients to gather essential information for annual reporting preparations.
• Assess client-submitted documents for thoroughness and precision.
• Reconcile plans that involve only rollovers and plan stock utilizing Excel and administration software.
• Leverage administration software to conduct 401(k) testing and reporting.
• Initiate reminder calls and send emails to clients throughout the plan-year reporting period.
• Prepare necessary 401(k) government filings, such as IRS Form 5500, using filing software.
• Provide education to clients regarding the administration of their 401(k) plans and associated documents.
• Convey knowledge and simplify complex topics for better understanding.
• Conduct training on concepts relevant to a Retirement Plan Administrator I.
• Execute additional duties as assigned.
• Proven experience in document review and transaction processing as part of daily responsibilities.
• 1 to 5 years of relevant back-office financial operations experience in areas like benefits administration, money movement and wires, insurance claims processing, tax preparation processing, loan or mortgage document processing, or compliance or quality-control support.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Direct experience in retirement-plan operations, including 401(k) or IRA administration, recordkeeping, distributions and rollovers, compliance testing, or 5500 or year-end reporting is preferred.
• Prior experience in reconciliation as a daily job duty is preferred.
• An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as business or finance, or equivalent work experience, is preferred.
• Basic understanding of 401(k) plan structure, ROBS, and IRS/DOL regulations is preferred.
