This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Dakota.
• Oversee the retail sales team for Agronomy, Energy, Animal Nutrition, and Grain product lines.
• Lead and assist in the hiring, onboarding, professional growth, coaching, mentoring, training, and performance evaluation of sales team members.
• Set and manage sales objectives that align with the broader business strategy and performance targets.
• Identify and track key performance indicators focused on growth, margin management, and team performance.
• Keep an eye on market competition, trends, and activities, and relay pertinent information to stakeholder teams.
• Establish, cultivate, and sustain relationships with key industry and strategic community partners.
• Ensure the sales team adheres to aligned sales processes and service delivery to optimize returns for patrons and local business units.
• Manage margins, take corrective actions, and facilitate the achievement of specified budgets.
• Align capacity and capabilities with sales forecast needs to ensure an efficient and cost-effective supply chain.
• Generate and follow up on sales leads to enhance market share within designated regions and territories.
• Utilize technology, data, and relationships to uncover cross-selling opportunities and drive market-share growth.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment between business strategy, objectives, and key deliverables.
• Maintain a consistent corporate image across product lines, promotional materials, service delivery, and events.
• Drive profitability enhancements and strategic go-to-market initiatives.
• Recognize team members’ skills and talents and support the development of individual and team growth plans.
• High School diploma or GED.
• 4+ years of experience in Agronomy, Grain, Animal Nutrition, or Energy Sales.
• Previous leadership experience with progressively increasing levels of responsibility.
• Bachelor’s degree in a business or agriculture-related field.
• Prior experience leading a sales team.
• Exceptional communication and leadership abilities.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) or similar CRM systems for managing customer relationships, sales opportunities, and business activities.
• Proficiency in Power BI or other data visualization and reporting tools, with the ability to analyze data and convey insights that support business decisions.
• Strong presentation and communication skills, with experience presenting information and recommendations to both small and large audiences, including customers, employee groups, and leadership teams.
• Ability to effectively influence and engage diverse stakeholders through presentations, meetings, and business reviews.
• Selected candidates are required to pass necessary pre-employment screenings, which may include drug tests, criminal background checks, motor vehicle checks, physical requirements, and FMCSA Clearinghouse.
