Residential Estimator – Australian Construction

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

📋 Description

• Analyze architectural designs and create initial plans and takeoffs.

• Enter quantities, measurements, and structural information into BuildXact and central Excel tracking sheets.

• Support clients and project managers with selections for structural colors and finish schedules.

• Develop detailed building specifications consistent with project scopes.

• Ensure all documentation complies with Australian Building Codes (NCC) and Queensland standards.

• Handle supplier inquiries, send out requests for quotes (RFQs), and manage email correspondence with Australian trades and vendors.

• Aggregate, compare, and assess incoming quotes to determine the best value and address any scope gaps.

• Organize and keep a current database of trade pricing and supplier materials.

• Standardize pre-construction documents for onshore Project Managers.

• Identify missing documentation or inconsistencies in plans prior to reaching the production team.

• Gradually assume responsibility for independent workflows as skills and trust are established.

• Progress to managing end-to-end estimations independently as proficiency with systems and client confidence grow.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2 to 3 years of demonstrated experience in residential construction estimating, particularly in the Australian market.

• Practical experience with BuildXact and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.

• Strong knowledge of Australian building codes, construction practices, and terminology.

• Outstanding ability to read, interpret, and scale architectural and structural plans.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, along with a professional demeanor in phone and email interactions.
