This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
β’ Manage intricate and high-risk residential claims utilizing advanced technical knowledge.
β’ Engage with clients, witnesses, or other relevant parties in the field to gather statements and negotiate settlements as necessary.
β’ Work collaboratively with internal teams, external vendors, and business partners to ensure prompt and precise claim resolutions.
β’ Implement claims management principles to control expenses and reduce claims leakage.
β’ Detect potential fraudulent claims and handle them according to company policies and procedures.
β’ Collaborate with claims vendors to uphold agreed-upon service standards.
β’ Serve as a subject matter expert in residential claims.
β’ Ensure that claim documentation is accurate, comprehensive, and adheres to regulatory and internal standards.
β’ Recognize, manage, and escalate non-standard or high-risk claims when required.
β’ Safeguard organizational interests by identifying risks and applying suitable controls.
β’ Contribute to initiatives aimed at process improvement.
β’ Engage in cross-functional and enterprise initiatives, offering expert advice on complex claims scenarios.
β’ Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and positive team environment.
β’ Share knowledge, provide coaching, and assist in skill development within the team.
β’ Remain updated on emerging trends, tools, and best practices in the industry.
β’ Represent TD Insurance as a brand ambassador both internally and externally.
β’ Generally report to a Team Manager / Manager, Claims.
β’ Extensive experience in managing complex residential insurance claims.
β’ Experience with litigation claims.
β’ Demonstrated ability to handle high-risk, high-severity claims with extended resolution timelines.
β’ In-depth understanding of the residential claims lifecycle and claims management practices.
β’ Strong knowledge of fraud detection, investigation, and escalation procedures.
β’ Capability to operate at maximum claims authority, with escalation for specific claims.
β’ Expert knowledge of the industry, supported by relevant accreditation and credentials.
β’ Solid understanding of insurance regulations, operational environments, and compliance standards.
β’ Ability to leverage Claims Resources teams and subject matter experts to evaluate liability and damages.
β’ Exceptional judgment, decision-making, and negotiation skills.
β’ Strong written and verbal communication skills.
β’ Proven ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners.
β’ Strong organizational, prioritization, and time-management abilities.
β’ Comfortable working independently in complex and uncertain situations.
