Crop Claims Specialist, Claims Adjuster

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Dakota.

📋 Description

• Assess liability by collecting and examining pertinent facts while implementing relevant procedures.

• Verify policy details and coverage by reviewing applicable claim coverage.

• Evaluate whether losses are covered under the policy.

• Engage in reviews and referrals initiated by the Risk Management Agency to ensure operational integrity and quality assurance.

• Uphold Zurich’s reputation by maintaining the confidentiality of claims information.

• Enhance professional and technical knowledge through educational opportunities, awareness of industry trends, personal networking, and involvement in professional societies.

• Travel within the designated territory and beyond to assist with workload demands.

• Participate in CAT teams.

• Offer remote support for calls to the Crop Claims Care Center and/or CCP Claims.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent with 6 months or more experience in the agricultural sector for the position of Crop Claims Field Adjuster I.

• High School Diploma or Equivalent with at least 4 years of experience in the agricultural or crop insurance industry for the role of Crop Claims Specialist.

• Crop Adjuster Proficiency Program Certification (CAPP) must be secured within 180 days of the hiring date.

• Reliable personal transportation and the ability to travel within the designated territory.

• Personal transportation and willingness to travel within the assigned territory and beyond to assist with workload, participate on CAT teams, and/or provide remote assistance.

• Capability to walk in agricultural fields for distances of up to 3 miles.

• Ability to climb agricultural storage bins up to 25 feet in height.

• Capacity to lift weights ranging from 25 lbs to 50 lbs.

• Willingness to work outdoors in diverse temperatures and weather conditions.

• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Excellent organization, multitasking, and prioritization abilities.

• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

• Must reside within 50 miles of Beadle, Jerauld, Sanborn, Brule, Aurora, Davison, Buffalo, or Hand counties in South Dakota.
