Resident Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Taiwan.

📋 Description

• Configure, manage, monitor, and conduct routine maintenance on Juniper MX/PTX and other series routers.

• Ensure the continuous operation of network devices, available 24/7.

• Deploy and troubleshoot routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS, and L3VPN.

• Address issues like route flapping, link congestion, packet loss, and other network anomalies.

• Aid in tracking and managing network inventory.

• Execute network capacity expansions, device upgrades, service cutovers, and optimize architecture.

• Formulate implementation plans and carry out on-site deployment and verification.

• Respond to network failures, perform fault isolation, conduct emergency repairs, and carry out root cause analysis.

• Generate standardized fault-handling reports and implement measures to prevent recurrence.

• Test the features and functionality of Juniper Networks products.

• Provide updates on progress and any issues that arise.

• Lead informal technical and product workshops.

• Troubleshoot network issues and support operations effectively.

• Develop operating procedures for networks and equipment.

• Assess technical specifications to ensure interoperability.

• Assist in the definition of network and service KPIs.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or other Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

• Generally, 6–10 years of relevant experience.

• Strong practical experience in the operation and maintenance of Juniper routers.

• Proficient in Junos OS operating commands and configuration logic.

• Comprehensive understanding of the TCP/IP protocol stack.

• Expertise in core routing and switching protocols including BGP, IS-IS, OSPF, MPLS, VLAN, and LACP.

• Familiar with enterprise-level network architecture.

• Capable of independently troubleshooting faults, performing link cutovers, and upgrading devices.

• Knowledge of common network monitoring tools.

• Strong skills in network troubleshooting and emergency fault-handling.

• Excellent on-site problem-solving capabilities.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Proficient in English and the local language.

• Capable of communicating product architectures, design proposals, and negotiating options with senior management.

• JNCIE-SP, JNCIE-ENT, JNCIP-SP, or JNCIP-ENT certifications are preferred.
