This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Tackle intricate challenges within the paper product converting sector to enhance manufacturing competitiveness.
• Assist projects through check-outs, start-up, commissioning, operational handoff, and troubleshooting of converting assets.
• Act as a key technical resource supporting commercialization and the rollout of the product portfolio.
• Develop technical solutions by engaging with internal and external technical SMEs, engineers, operations staff, vendors, and OEMs.
• Identify technological and process deficiencies and propose efficiency improvements.
• Guide and mentor operations teams by fostering technical skills, capabilities, and efficiencies.
• Enhance performance metrics and sustainability of assets.
• Scale improvements through the sharing of knowledge across various assets and platforms.
• Acquire knowledge of platform equipment technologies and implement that knowledge across the business.
• Collaborate with operations teams across Georgia-Pacific’s North American facilities.
• In-depth knowledge and expertise in the design, construction, operations, and maintenance of assets in the converting domain.
• Over 5 years of experience with converting packaging machinery, including wrappers, bundlers, case packers, case sealers, baggers, and similar equipment, related to the manufacturing of tissue, towels, napkins, plates, and bowls.
• Proficient in reading schematics and troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems and components.
• Experience in evaluating equipment or processes, crafting solutions, and implementing equipment or training enhancements.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 80% of the time, which may include weekend travel.
• Prepared to wear necessary Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).
• Able to work flexible hours to support projects or assignments.
• Proactive in problem-solving and researching solutions.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong project management skills, leadership qualities, and accountability.
• Capability to support start-up/commissioning and troubleshoot converting equipment until performance metrics are met.
• Ability to apply engineering and scientific principles to identify and resolve equipment runnability challenges.
• Competent in working independently with minimal supervision and direction.
• Skillful in facilitating and driving the resolution of complex equipment issues.
• Comprehensive knowledge of maintenance and electrical methods and techniques.
• Understanding of preventative/predictive techniques and Root Cause Failure Analysis.
• Proven experience in team/group facilitation.
