Resident Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in China.

📋 Description

• Configure, oversee, monitor, and regularly maintain Juniper MX/PTX series routers

• Ensure continuous 24/7 operation of network devices

• Implement and troubleshoot BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS, and L3VPN routing protocols

• Address route flapping, link congestion, packet loss, and other network issues

• Monitor and manage network inventory

• Execute projects for network capacity expansion, device upgrades, service cutovers, architecture optimization, and network transformation

• Create implementation plans and conduct on-site deployment and verification

• Respond to network outages, identify faults, perform emergency repairs, and carry out root cause analysis

• Generate standardized fault-handling reports to mitigate recurring failures

• Test features and functionalities of Juniper Networks products

• Provide updates on work-in-progress and current issues

• Conduct informal technical and product workshops

• Troubleshoot networks and support operations

• Develop operating procedures for networks and equipment

• Assess technical specifications for interoperability

• Assist in establishing network and service KPIs

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or other Engineering disciplines, or Computer Science, or equivalent qualifications

• Generally 6–10 years of relevant experience

• Extensive practical experience in the operation and maintenance of Juniper routers

• Proficiency in Junos OS operating commands and configuration logic

• Comprehensive understanding of the TCP/IP protocol stack

• Expertise in BGP, ISIS, OSPF, MPLS, VLAN, LACP, and related routing and switching protocols

• Familiarity with enterprise-level network architecture

• Capability to independently troubleshoot faults, perform link cutovers, and upgrade devices

• Knowledge of common network monitoring tools

• Strong skills in network troubleshooting and on-site problem resolution

• Excellent written and oral communication skills

• Proficiency in English as well as the local language

• Ability to articulate product architectures, design proposals, and negotiate options at the senior management level

• JNCIE-SP, JNCIE-ENT, JNCIP-SP, or JNCIP-ENT certifications are preferred
