Researcher / Analyst – Cyber and Defence Risk Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Estonia.

📋 Description

• Perform risk assessments related to cybersecurity, technology, operations, and defense in R&D initiatives.

• Evaluate threats, vulnerabilities, and risk scenarios associated with technical systems.

• Create and sustain risk models, criteria, and organized risk registers.

• Assist in threat modeling, security requirements engineering, and capability gap analysis.

• Investigate defense, cybersecurity, and regulatory topics pertinent to project goals.

• Write and co-author research reports, risk assessments, and formal R&D outputs.

• Facilitate workshops, interviews, and stakeholder evaluations.

• Generate risk assessments, threat analyses, mitigation suggestions, research reports, feasibility studies, requirements, decision-support materials, R&D outputs, proposals, and stakeholder briefings.

⛳️ Requirements

• A background in cybersecurity, defense, risk management, security studies, or a related analytical discipline.

• Hands-on experience in performing risk assessments or analyzing cyber, defense, or technology-related risks.

• Comprehension of cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and risk-treatment methodologies.

• Capability to link technical findings with operational and organizational impacts.

• Experience with defense organizations or critical infrastructure is preferred.

• Knowledge of established risk or security frameworks is a plus.

• A degree or equivalent experience in cybersecurity, security studies, risk management, or a related domain.

• Willingness to undergo a government security clearance process.
