This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Oversee the datacenter sector and industry, encompassing facilities, equipment, services, and key datacenter facility owners/operators.
• Monitor datacenter-related metrics using quantitative modeling, including facility buildouts, floor space, racks, power, cooling, IT infrastructure, and environmental metrics.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and cloud services analysts to synchronize datacenter infrastructure and services datasets with associated datasets.
• Generate written and social media content on datacenter developments, news events, and vendors, including structured reports, blogs, and social media updates.
• Present at events, lead webinars, and participate in vendor and end-user events as a subject matter expert.
• Interact with clients and assist in IDC’s technology intelligence research.
• Bachelor’s degree (STEM degree is advantageous, but not mandatory).
• 5–10 years of pertinent work experience, including a background in the IT and/or datacenter industry.
• Knowledge of operating and market dynamics within the datacenter facilities industry.
• Understanding of datacenter facilities, including buildouts, operations, cooling, power, racks, floor buildouts, and physical security.
• Familiarity with datacenter services, including hosting, colocation, and wholesale datacenter leasing.
• Strong awareness of IT infrastructure within datacenters, encompassing compute, storage, and networking.
• Excellent quantitative skills.
• Fundamental quantitative and qualitative (narrative) technical skills.
• Strong narrative, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in client engagement.
• Self-motivated, adaptable, proactive, and capable of problem-solving.
• Proximity to an international airport is required.
• Willingness to travel 35–50% of the time.
• Unrestricted ability to travel to the US for meetings and vendor events.
• Must hold a US Visa and/or be a Canadian citizen.
