
Research Administrator, Pre-Award Manager – School of Medicine

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Report to the Director of Research Administration Services (RAS)
• Lead and oversee staff engaged in pre-award activities for the sponsored research portfolio
• Monitor the distribution of workloads and reassign tasks as necessary
• Provide mentorship and guidance to team members for their professional growth
• Conduct post-award activities in support of the RAS unit as required
• Apply federal and university regulations regarding effort allocation for individuals funded by federal awards
• Implement costing rules and regulations for federally funded projects
• Analyze data and draw informed conclusions
• Ensure exceptional customer service to faculty and departments
• Address issues that breach performance standards or RAS performance agreements
• Develop budgets and assemble proposal materials
• Enter proposals into EPEX and assist principal investigators with Just-In-Time (JIT) forms
• Prepare CAS exceptions for approval
• Collaborate with OSP and assist with sub-award documentation and project partner relations
• Generate high-quality written reports
• Coordinate with the Post-Award team lead for inter-team meetings
• Execute related responsibilities as necessary
• Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience in grants and contracts, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
• Supervisory experience is preferred
• Knowledge of federal regulations and rules pertaining to research grant and/or contract activities
• In-depth understanding of award proposal processes for various sponsoring organizations
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite software
• Primary work location cannot be in New Jersey, Alaska, Hawaii, any U.S. Territories, or outside the United States
• Remote work with occasional visits to an Emory University location
• Potential business hours aligned with Eastern Standard Time (EST)
