This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Collect, validate, and cleanse financial data from diverse sources.
• Work alongside various departments to pinpoint key risk indicators and ensure the availability and integrity of information.
• Create specifications for data requirements related to banking and other systems.
• Collaborate with IT Solutions and Central Operations on initiatives for change management.
• Establish and sustain metrics and models for the measurement and analysis of risk.
• Implement and oversee security protocols for sensitive data.
• Manage audits and ensure the integrity of credit reporting, LOS, and source data from banking systems.
• Document and uphold data lineage for governance and compliance purposes.
• Analyze risk-related data to detect trends, anomalies, and areas of concern.
• Provide insights and recommendations to aid in Risk Management decision-making.
• Design and produce regular risk reports and dashboards for internal stakeholders and regulatory agencies.
• Integrate Power BI reports into institutional applications and platforms.
• Generate ad hoc reports for specific inquiries and emerging risk issues.
• Identify opportunities for automation and enhance reporting processes.
• Collaborate with Finance, Compliance, and IT to ensure risk reporting aligns with organizational goals.
• Convey findings to non-technical stakeholders.
• Monitor relevant regulations to ensure compliance with industry and regulatory standards.
• Assist in the preparation of documentation for regulatory audits and examinations.
• A bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Data Science, Finance, Statistics, Business Administration) is required.
• At least two (2) years of experience in a financial institution is necessary.
• Knowledge of credit union operations, principles, and values is essential.
• Familiarity with risk management concepts, ECL models, and financial instruments is preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in data analysis, ideally within a financial institution or a risk management context.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are required.
• Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to data accuracy.
• Proficient in both written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-focused environment.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL, DAX, Power BI, or similar business intelligence tools.
• Strong technical knowledge of banking systems and retail and commercial loan origination systems is important.
• Familiarity with internet and web-based applications is required.
• Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of products.
