Release Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Coordinate releases from various project streams into production across global regions.

• Take ownership of the master release calendar and oversee go/no-go reviews.

• Establish and facilitate the Change Advisory Board (CAB).

• Ensure that every production change is accompanied by an approved ticket, test evidence, and appropriate sign-off.

• Manage the release path through pre-production and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

• Resolve environment conflicts and track deviations from production.

• Own change management controls and provide audit evidence for internal audits, external auditors, and bank client reviews.

• Lead post-release verification processes.

• Publish release notes.

• Report on deployment frequency, change failure rate, and rollback rate.

• Collaborate with engineering and DevOps teams to enhance CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.

• Build and refine the release management process while actively participating in its operation.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5 to 7 years of experience in release management, change management, DevOps, or a related field.

• At least 3 years in a role adjacent to engineering.

• Proven experience in establishing or enhancing a release and CAB process, rather than merely following one.

• Proficient knowledge of Jira and GitHub Actions or similar CI/CD tools.

• Experience working in a regulated or audited environment (such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, or similar).

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to enforce processes while collaborating effectively with engineering teams.

• Availability during US business hours, with occasional deployments scheduled during India hours.

• Standard shift aligned with US business hours (Eastern or Central preferred for bank client coverage).

• Nice to have: Experience with multi-region or global deployments.

• Nice to have: Background in fintech, payments, or banking technology.

• Nice to have: Familiarity with ITIL or an equivalent framework.
