This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +8 more states.
• Conduct professional nursing tasks for patients to assist them in achieving or maintaining optimal physical, emotional, or social well-being.
• Perform initial and admission evaluations, gather and analyze patient information, and document results.
• Evaluate patient medical, physical, cultural, spiritual, ethnic, medication, safety, and discharge requirements.
• Engage and document patient support systems while advocating for patient rights, privacy, and confidentiality.
• Initiate, update, interpret, and document treatment plans and care strategies.
• Participate in care conferences and represent the nursing aspect of treatment plans.
• Review laboratory results and follow up with physicians accordingly.
• Assess fall risk, self-harm, suicidality, aggressive behavior, withdrawal symptoms, medication side effects, and acute cardiac or respiratory issues.
• Safely administer and monitor medications, transcribe physician orders, document patient responses, and educate patients regarding their medications.
• Implement patient care in accordance with care plans, hospital policies, unit standards, age-specific requirements, and cultural considerations.
• Utilize de-escalation techniques, such as quiet rooms, locked seclusion, and restraints, when appropriate.
• Provide health education to patients and families and document this education in the patient record and treatment plan.
• Coordinate admissions, transfers, and related care activities in compliance with EMTALA when designated as a QMP.
• Ensure the safety of patients, visitors, and staff through safety and infection control protocols.
• Engage in ongoing education, in-services, performance improvement, committee work, unit projects, and quality initiatives.
• Assist in the development and execution of unit standards of care, educational equipment requirements, and supply needs.
• Assume charge nurse responsibilities, including coordinating unit operations, crisis management, admissions, therapeutic environment management, assignments, and unit organization.
• Supervise and delegate tasks to LPNs and psychiatric technicians.
• Maintain a primary caseload and provide guidance for patient care.
• Provide acuity monitors to Patient Accounts to ensure accurate billing.
• Set professional development goals and discuss progress with the Clinical Services Manager.
• Promote the goals of the hospital and department, uphold policies and procedures, and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Train new staff and student interns as directed.
• Communicate professionally with patients, families, physicians, visitors, vendors, and hospital staff.
• Registered nurse licensed by the State Board of Nursing in the state of employment; license must be in good standing.
• Must reside in a state where Rogers operates: WI, MN, IL, PA, TN, FL, GA, CO, CA, WA.
• Must hold licensure in Wisconsin and be able to obtain licensure in Minnesota and Illinois.
• American Health Association Healthcare Provider CPR certification is required or must be obtained within thirty (30) days of hire; bi-annual re-certification is mandatory.
• Formal training in the management of aggressive patients is required within sixty (60) days of hire; annual re-certification is necessary.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) is preferred.
• Previous psychiatric experience with children, adolescents, and adults is preferred.
• May be required to hold a qualified medical professional (QMP) designation and meet associated competency standards.
• Employees in Child/Adolescent Day Treatment programs licensed under HFS §40 must have psychiatric nursing training involving children with mental health disorders, or one (1) year of clinical experience with these children.

• Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, including those related to Human Resources, Infection Control, and Employee Health.
