Registered Nurse – Emergency

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Deliver expert registered nursing services to patients, including those with complex and unpredictable health conditions.

• Offer independent nursing services.

• Administer prescribed medical treatments effectively.

• Assume a leadership position within the healthcare team.

• Coordinate patient care and facilitate discharge processes.

• Exhibit commitment to the region, facility, and unit's vision, values, goals, and objectives.

• Engage in full-time Emergency Nursing Orientation throughout the Level 1, 2, and 3 training phases.

• Work during days, nights, and weekends in the Urgent Care unit at Victoria General Hospital.

⛳️ Requirements

• Recent, relevant experience is advantageous.

• Preference for candidates with current Emergency nursing experience.

• A satisfactory employment history is mandatory.

• Graduation from an accredited Registered Nursing education program is essential.

• Successful completion of the WRHA Emergency Nursing Orientation (ENO) Level 1 within 2 months of hire, with Levels 2 and 3 completed within 12 months of hire.

• Completion of all additional required training within 24 months.

• Maintain and provide evidence of registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM).

• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Training at the Healthcare Provider level is necessary.

• Familiarity with CRNM Standards of Practice, CNA Code of Ethics, RHPA scope of practice, healthcare policies and protocols, nursing care, PHIA, protection and mental health legislation, WHMIS, routine practices, delegation, and responsibilities of the healthcare team.

• Strong oral and written communication abilities.

• Proficient in critical thinking and problem-solving.

• Capacity to prioritize patient care and respond to multiple demands simultaneously.

• Willingness to pursue self-development opportunities.

• Capability to work autonomously and collaboratively as part of the healthcare team.

• Ability to quickly adapt to changing situations while maintaining focus amid frequent interruptions.

• Competence to operate in a demanding and high-stress environment.

• Proficiency with computers, including Windows, word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.

• Moderate to heavy physical exertion is necessary.

• A current satisfactory Criminal Records Check, including a Vulnerable Sector Search, is required.

• Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check are prerequisites for employment.

• Preference for applicants who are competent in an Indigenous language and/or have knowledge of Indigenous customs, traditions, and values.
