Regional VP of Development

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Propel Caron’s fundraising initiatives and enhance engagement with the Regional Advisory Board in the region.

• Oversee and expand the Regional Advisory Board, including organizing quarterly meetings, setting agendas, managing communications, and recruiting members.

• Act as the intermediary between the Regional Advisory Board and Caron Treatment Centers.

• Formulate and implement regional board objectives that align with Caron’s strategic vision.

• Collaborate with the Vice President of Regional Advancement and Chief Development Officer to meet annual and campaign fundraising targets.

• Organize high-level meetings with prospective donors alongside the President and CEO, preparing prospect profiles, agendas, and strategic plans.

• Identify, nurture, solicit, and maintain relationships with major gift prospects.

• Coordinate donor engagement activities with the Chief Development Officer and President and CEO.

• Work together with the Regional Alumni Coordinator to cultivate a pipeline of major gift prospects.

• Liaise with the Florida alumni and development team regarding cases returning to the region.

• Attend monthly meetings related to Major Gifts, High Capacity, and Regional Development.

• Regularly update Salesforce with notes and activities, and notify Development Services of any record changes.

• Lead and manage the annual dinner to achieve or surpass fundraising objectives.

• Finalize a contract with the local Special Events firm and ensure that service standards are fulfilled.

• Represent Caron at local special events that involve key donors or stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is mandatory; a Master’s degree is preferred.

• A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in fundraising is required.

• Experience with major gifts and special events is strongly preferred.

• Experience collaborating with a Board of Directors and Special Event Committees is strongly preferred.

• If in recovery, at least one year of continuous sobriety is preferred.

• A meaningful connection to addiction and recovery is preferred but not essential.

• Willingness to work extended hours is necessary.

• Must be able to travel frequently within the region.

• Occasional travel to other Caron regional offices, including those in Pennsylvania and Florida, is required.

• Must be able to travel by car, requiring personal transportation, and by train or air when necessary.

• Capable of presenting to audiences in both large and small group settings.

• Ability to stand for long periods when necessary.

• A suitable home office setup that ensures confidentiality and privacy.

• Access to a computer and high-speed internet is essential.
