Regional Underwriting Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Oversee a team of underwriting counsels

• Offer underwriting guidance to ensure uniform risk assessment and decision-making

• Evaluate title insurance risks, underwriting challenges, and regulatory issues

• Deliver underwriting solutions to agents, sales personnel, and title examiners in compliance with company policies and relevant laws

• Underwrite both residential and commercial transactions

• Conduct training seminars for title agents and production teams, both online and in person

• Provide exceptional customer service while making prudent underwriting decisions

• Manage a high volume of underwriting inquiries via email and phone

• Analyze and address indemnity requests

• Travel alongside sales staff for agent visits across Florida

• Collaborate effectively within a remote team setting

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree

• At least 5 years of experience focused on Florida real property and title insurance

• Must hold a valid membership in good standing with the Florida Bar

• Comprehensive understanding of Florida real property law and its application to real estate transactions

• Familiarity with the Florida title insurance sector

• Strong oral and written communication abilities

• Skills in relationship building, problem-solving, and decision-making

• Capacity to identify problems, gather data, ascertain facts, and reach valid conclusions

• Proficiency in resolving practical issues with limited standardization

• Ability to interpret written, verbal, diagrammatic, or schedule-based instructions

• Capability to thrive in a remote team environment

• Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
