Regional Sales Manager – Retail Channel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Meet and exceed designated sales quotas, revenue targets, profitability standards, and performance objectives for your territory.

• Formulate and implement annual and quarterly business strategies for the territory.

• Cultivate and enhance relationships with distributors, dealers, buying groups, retail cooperatives, chain accounts, and key end-user clients.

• Perform regular field sales visits with distributor sales teams, retail partners, dealers, and end users.

• Discover, create, and finalize new business opportunities.

• Assist in retail channel execution through product demonstrations, merchandising advice, promotional assistance, training, and follow-ups with customers.

• Collaborate with distributor and dealer sales teams to increase product visibility and enhance sell-through rates.

• Carry out product demonstrations, conduct sales meetings, organize lunch-and-learns, and facilitate training sessions.

• Stay informed about the MCR Safety Group product range, which includes gloves, eye protection, footwear, protective apparel, and other safety solutions.

• Utilize CRM and customer data to maintain records, manage opportunities, document sales activities, and support territory planning.

• Evaluate sales reports, customer performance metrics, market trends, competitor actions, and product opportunities.

• Keep the Director of Sales updated about account activities, territory priorities, opportunities, risks, and competitive developments.

• Oversee trade sample, promotional, and travel-and-entertainment budgets.

• Participate in approved trade shows, buying-group meetings, distributor events, customer meetings, and company sales gatherings.

• Work together with Customer Care, Marketing, Product Management, Sales Operations, and other internal departments.

• Represent MCR Safety Group in a professional manner.

• Carry out other duties as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience may also be considered.

• A minimum of four years of successful experience in outside sales is required.

• Experience in retail, industrial, safety, PPE, manufacturing, distribution, dealer, or channel sales is preferred.

• Demonstrated ability to achieve or surpass sales targets and manage a field-based territory independently.

• Experience in selling through distributors, dealers, buying groups, retail cooperatives, chain accounts, or similar channel partners is essential.

• Strong understanding of account planning, consultative selling, pipeline development, customer relationship management, and territory execution.

• Ability to forge relationships with business owners, distributor sales teams, retail managers, purchasing contacts, and end-user decision-makers.

• Excellent presentation, negotiation, communication, active listening, and problem-solving abilities.

• Capability to convert product features and customer needs into compelling value propositions.

• Highly organized, self-driven, detail-oriented, and adept at managing multiple priorities in remote and field-based settings.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

• CRM experience is required; familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, and Power BI is preferred.

• Willingness and ability to travel extensively within the assigned territory, including overnight trips as necessary.

• A valid driver’s license is required.

• Preferred experience in PPE, safety products, industrial distribution, retail channel sales, hardware, farm and ranch, construction supply, or related markets.

• Knowledge of gloves, eye protection, footwear, protective apparel, or related safety product categories is beneficial.

• Experience with utilizing sales data, customer reports, and market insights to develop territory plans and enhance account performance.

• Proven track record in launching new products, supporting promotional initiatives, and driving sales execution at the field level.
