This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Create and implement strategies for territory expansion in California, Hawaii, Nevada, Arizona, and New Mexico.
• Foster and sustain strategic partnerships with distributors, manufacturers' representatives, contractors, engineers, municipalities, utilities, and end users.
• Lead, develop, and hold manufacturer representatives and distribution partners accountable through business planning, performance evaluations, joint sales efforts, training, and market development initiatives.
• Establish and prioritize a project and distributor conversion pipeline utilizing CRM systems, forecasting, and opportunity management techniques.
• Discover new market opportunities, underserved regions, target accounts, and industry trends.
• Offer insights into customer and market dynamics concerning competitive activities, customer requirements, and industry developments.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering, estimating, marketing, finance, customer service, and supply chain teams.
• Design and deliver training programs for products, applications, and sales.
• Tackle customer challenges and coordinate solutions for quality, production, scheduling, delivery, billing, and service issues.
• Represent McWane Plant & Industrial during customer meetings, project locations, industry events, trade associations, and channel partner interactions.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent industry experience.
• At least 3 years of successful sales experience in industrial, mechanical, waterworks, or related infrastructure sectors.
• Demonstrated ability to expand a territory through new customer acquisition, channel development, project influence, and market share growth.
• Proven experience in developing and executing strategic territory plans and managing complex sales opportunities.
• Strong business acumen along with problem-solving capabilities.
• Competence in influencing customers, channel partners, and cross-functional teams.
• Entrepreneurial mindset characterized by accountability, initiative, and flexibility.
• Proficiency in utilizing CRM systems, opportunity management, forecasting, and pipeline development tools.
• Willingness to travel up to 60%.
• Preferred: 5+ years of sales experience in relevant markets.
• Preferred: Experience with manufacturer representatives, distributors, contractors, engineers, municipalities, utilities, and industrial facilities across the Western U.S.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in a technical or construction-related field.
• Preferred: Experience in building territories, launching products, entering markets, or developing a new business, division, or product line.
• Preferred: Expertise in CRM management, forecasting, pipeline development, annual sales planning, channel partner management, and project-based selling.
